August 17, 2016 4:09 amI love this!! Such great picks. I was excited to learn what you put for Maryland and I’m not even remotely surprised you chose the Hairspray song! To be honest, I think it’s the only song about Maryland out there hahah. People tend to forget about us because we’re so small lol.

August 18, 2016 4:30 pmThe Hairspray soundtrack was my daughter’s first CD. She wore it out and still knows all of the lyrics by heart!

August 17, 2016 7:24 pmI am LOVING this list. When I was younger (now I am going to date myself) and I used to make mix tapes for my friends- I love gathering play lists of my favorites!

August 21, 2016 8:47 amHere are some additional suggestions and personal favorites:
(Livin’ on) Tulsa Time, Don Williams; although Eric Clapton’s version probably received more air-play.
China Grove, The Doobie Brothers; refers to China Grove, Texas. There’s a back story told by band members about the creation of this song, but I don’t remember the details.
Texas in My Rearview Mirror, Mac Davis. Features the line “I thought happiness was Lubbock Texas in my rearview mirror.” If you’ve lived in Lubbock, this song is kind-of an anti-Lubbock anthem by those who live there, but claim to not want to live there. I always thought it odd they never moved.
