This past weekend brought one of our favorite festivals in Memphis, India Fest. India Fest was started in 1993 as a way to celebrate the growing Memphis Indian community. It is usually held on the first Saturday of November and located at the Memphis AgriCenter. Each year it has grown and now boasts around 13,000 people in attendance. Not only is it a huge social event for Indian-Americans, it is also a way for Indians to share their culture with the rest of us!
Joe and I like to go every year to get truly authentic Indian food. We try to time our attendance right around our lunch time! Yum!

In the food area, a dozen + vendors and nonprofit organizations showcase their cuisine. Prices are modest, ranging from $1-8.

There are several performance areas to see Bollywood dancing and music.

Several vendors will adorn you with beautiful henna!

Shop away at the bazaar where you can look for traditional Indian clothing, jewelry, and goods from more than 50 vendors.
